Dora Belle Majors, age 86, of Brownwood went to be with her Lord on April 20, 2014. She was born in Abilene Texas on March 17, 1928 to Melton and Rose Ellis.

Dora Belle married Clyde Majors on July 31, 1947 in Yuma Arizona.
She received her Masters Degree in Education and taught for over 30 years, before retiring from the Brownwood Independent School District and becoming an active member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was a dedicated volunteer with Good Samaritan Ministries and a faithful contributor to many other charitable organizations. Dora Belle was faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Early where she was a Sunday school teacher and a regular "cookie baker" for vacation bible school. She loved her cat "Patches" and took care of numerous neighborhood strays. (each one had a name).

Dora Belle was a Mother of two but a "Mom" to many! "Dodi" was the nickname her sister called her and so did some of her extended family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Dr. Clyde Majors, a brother, MG Ellis and a sister Genefa Watson.

Survivors include her son, Joe Ben Majors and wife Lisa of Brownwood, her daughter Melinda Milliken of Waco, her sister Billie Cabitt, 4 grandchildren, Joshua Majors, Brandi Burson, Rebecca Coward and Jenni Flores and 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in honor and memory of Dora Belle to
The First Baptist Church of Early.
