MOUNDVILLE – Doretha George Richardson, age 84, of Moundville, Ala., died August 9, 2017, at Woodhaven Manor. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Oak Hill Cemetery with Raymond Robertson officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be today, August 11, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Alvin Richardson; parents, Ellis Roy and Dena Opal Lucky George; brother, Ellis Roy George, Jr.; grandson, Ronnie Lance Richardson; and granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Richardson.
Survivors include her daughter, Regina Jowers (Dana) of Demopolis, Ala.; sons, Wayne Richardson (Sadie) of Moundville, Ala., William Richardson (Cindy) of Moundville, Ala. and Joe Richardson (Peggy) of Akron, Ala.; sisters, Nadine Nunnenkamp (Stan) of Wichita, Kan. and Mattie Grace Wallace of Midfield, Ala.; brother, Thomas George of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; twelve grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Doretha was born on April 4, 1933 to Ellis Roy and Dena Opal Lucky George. She was raised in Moundville, Ala. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Joe Richardson, Dana Barousse, Kris Jowers, Kory Jowers, Gerald Anderson and William Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers are Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home and Dr. Chu.
