She is survived by her husband, Charles Adler; children, Tom Adler, Mike (Elaine) Adler, Dennis (Kelly) Adler, Terri (Don) Madden and Connie (Bryan) Sayles; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren as well as three nieces. Doris graduated from Michigan Center High School in 1951; she worked at Consumers Power for a brief time. After being a proud homemaker and raising a family, she returned to the work force and was employed with Elm Plating and the Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Adler was active in the Scouts of America and was Treasurer of Northwest Kiwanis for several years. She had a strong faith in the Lord and at one time was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Pleasant Lake. A celebration of her life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Susan Vandercook officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Allegiance and Carelink for the wonderful care they had provided. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Michigan Kiwanis Group.
