She enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, being a talented artist and spending time with her family. Doris had a comical zest for life. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband John, her four children; C. Lynn (Small) (Greg) Enstrom, Tamara (Small) (Don) Jarvis, Kelly (Gross) (Steve) Schaub, Brett (Kelli) Gross; a brother, Thomas (Janice) Marquand of Kendallville In., 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Ross and a brother, Harry Marquand.
A Celebration on Life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street at 2:30pm with Rev. Gregory Enstrom officiating. The saying "it takes a village to raise a child" is so true for those that lived on "the circle". Doris was one of my many moms...you knew that what Doris said to you was true for every mom on that block. She taught her children the true meaning of friendship...which I have cherished for MANY years. Her legacy lives on... Prayers & love.

I will miss my best friend of over seventy years. Doris always made the effort to visit or keep in touch no matter how many miles separated us. I will always remember that and that she loved a good laugh. My love to each of you. RosePeeler
