Preceding her in death are her parents, Roscoe and Maude Whitley of Tarrant City, Alabama and her husband, Herman Larry King of Trussville, Alabama. She is survived by a son, Larry Joe King of Greensboro, Georgia, a daughter, Kathy Ann Coles of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and a sister, Betty Whitley Mathews Reese of Birmingham, Alabama. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10th, at Ridout's Trussville Chapel Funeral Home located at 1500 Gadsden Road in Trussville, AL. A memorial celebration will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the Ridout's Trussville Chapel. The burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Hugh Richardson will officiate. Doris was born in Birmingham, Al on July 2, 1935, to Maude and Roscoe Whitley of Tarrant City, AL. She attended school in Tarrant City and was retired from South Central Bell in Birmingham.
