Doris I. Pittenger, 86, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday March 18,2014 at Heritage Manor. She was born on June 18, 1927 in Springfield to John "Jack" Carnduff and Theoline Streder. She married Edwin Pittenger on August 1st, 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1982.

She is survived by her two sons: Edwin W.(wife Karen Lavery) Pittenger of Lakewood Ca., and Dennis Pittenger of Springfield, one brother Lowell Beatty of Springfield, three grand children and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son James "Buddy Ruff" Skeens and her daughter Millie Pittenger. Her passions in life were bingo, scrabble, game shows, the Chicago cubs and caring for children.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday April 12, 2014 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
