Doris graduated from Washington Lee High School, Arlington, VA in 1946. After graduation she worked as a typist for the Veterans Administration from 1946 to 1949. She was a City of Falls Church resident for 40 years, where she raised four children. Of Mathews, Virginia died on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at her daughter's home in Leesburg, VA. She was born on November 7, 1928 in Glencarlyn, VA. Doris graduated from Washington Lee High School, Arlington, VA in 1946. After graduation she worked as a typist for the Veterans Administration from 1946 to 1949. She was a City of Falls Church resident for 40 years, where she raised four children. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Mathews County, VA where she actively attended Mathews Baptist church in Hudgins, VA. Doris was the wife of 56 years of the late Lester H. Schumann; loving mother of Brenda D. Fairchild, Belinda K. Cooksey, Brian L. Schumann and Blain M. Schumann; and cherished sister of Roy E. McDaniel. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and her niece, Caren E. McDaniel. The family will receive friends at Murphy Falls Church Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad St. (Rt. 7), Falls Church, VA from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
