Graveside service for Doris Kean Wear of Decatur will be Thursday, July 31, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with Reverend Roger Jenkins officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Ms. Wear died July 28, 2014, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born September 18, 1924, in Birmingham to Virginia McDonald Kean and Leonard Willis Kean. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, devoting her entire adult life to providing the love and guidance to her family.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, B. Ford Wear Jr.; two daughters, Pat Crowe and her husband, Horace, of Decatur and Pegi Wyatt and her husband, Jim, of Birmingham; five grandchildren, Leslie Tomlinson (David) of Florence, Alex Wyatt (Megan) of Birmingham, Rebecca Bibb (Sloane) of Decatur, Mac Wyatt of New York City, NY, and Virginia Baggs (Robin) of Atlanta, GA; and eight great-grandchildren, Ford, Eloise and Henry Tomlinson of Florence, Riordan and Ander Wyatt of Birmingham, Colwell and Frances Bibb of Decatur and Bay Baggs of Atlanta.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Decatur.
