Marjorie Walker
Dear friends of Dorothy Myers,
I, Marjorie Walker, my late husband, Harry, our daughter, Debbie and family, want you all to know how much we loved Dot. Every Christmas, when we received her early card, I would clap and happily say she is still hanging in there. All of our children knew about Dot. Her parents, Paul and Robbie had a big house in Chattanooga, with a huge porch all across the front. We would all sit out on the porch and greet all the people walking past.
I can well remember the times Ruth, Dot and Frances, would sing around the piano. As I remembered, Dot played and they would all sing songs. This was a real treat for us. I think that they did this in church, also.
Frances and I were closer to the same age and we would spend the night with them. One time, a good while after dinner, we wanted to go get something to eat, so we all four piled into Dave's car in our pajamas and went to a place that would serve you in the car. (This was long, long before McDonald's.) We all thought that this was neat, going to get something to eat in your p.j.'s.
We grieved so, when Dave died. They loved each other so very much. Lots of happy memories of a long ago time.
Love,
Marjorie, Debbie and family

I met Dot when I first came to Chattanooga from Florida and went to work for The Double Cola Co. down on Broad Street. Oh, what times we had!! Dot's sweet smile, and supportive nature made working with her such a treasure. The stories of her earlier days were something else. Dot and I stayed in contact for a long time after I left, and I will ALWAYS treasure her friendship. We loved the holidays, and birthdays... It's time to dig out the old photos, and remember "Precious Memories".

Dot, as I always called my sweet cousin, was loved by our family. She and I would talk often of family history, we shared the same grandparents Robert and Sara Jane Stansbury. We also enjoyed talking of her days at Double Cola Co. The popular citrus soda pop SKI received its name when the company asked employees to submit a name for their new product. Inspired by a weekend long ski trip on the Chickamauga Lake, Dot submitted the names "Ski" and "Skee" into the contest. She said management liked the name and it's been Ski ever since. You might enjoy reading this in Wikipedia. A favorite memory was being with Dot and Dave at the lake. Bob and I send our love to all of Dot's family, Tom and Linda, Dorothy (Dot), Paula Kay, Cy, and Paul and Gail. May God bless you through this difficult loss.
