Dorothy LaVern Foster Wood passed away January 6, 2018 at home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm on Tuesday January 9 at First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff, Visitation to resume at 9am Wednesday until time of service at 10am, Rev. Steve Bennett and Rev. Francis LaRocque will officiate.

Dorothy was born June 16, 1927 in Catawba, WI to Felix and Mollie Foster. The family moved to Merryville LA where Dorothy graduated from Merryville High School then attending Vincent Business College in Lake Charles, LA.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, B. T. "Buddy" Wood, her parents, brothers: Orin Foster, George "Buddy" Foster and sister, Marcie Cooley.

She is survived by her children; Linda Wood Penny, Judy Wood, Scott Wood, Molly (Terry) Hagen, Brett (Carol) Wood, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brothers, Allen Foster and Bobby Foster, sister, Felice Fowler and numerous nieces and nephews.

In early years, Dorothy was active at First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff where she taught SS, VBS, WMU and training union classes.
