DOROTHY A. (HOFFMAN) ALT, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at her residence. She was born June 1, 1933 in Millersville, Ohio a daughter of Frank and Agnes (Foos) Hoffman. She married Bernard Alt Oct. 18, 1958 in Fort Knox, Ky. "She was a devoted wife, beloved mother and a doting grandmother, who loved to play games such as Dominos and enjoyed nature by going for walks and working in her garden. Dorothy had an unwavering faith in God as a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church." She is survived by her husband, Bernard Alt; sons, Kevin (Cynthia) Alt of Huntington Beach, Calif., Thomas (Linda) Alt of Columbia City, Charles (Claire) Alt of Greenwood, Ind., Ronald (Rynae) Alt of Shawnee, Kan.; daughter, Barbara Alt of Avilla; eight grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Catherine. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church with calling one hour prior. Father Mark Gurtner officiating. Visitation also from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd. Burial at Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to Masses or American Heart Association .
