Dorothy was born April 21, 1921 in Morton Mills, IA, the daughter of Earl and Mary A. (Bourn) Whipple. She married Robert Kester in 1940 in Mt. Pleasant, IA; he preceded her in death. She then married Clarence Gentry in 1946 in Troy, KS and later married Earl H. "Andy"Anderson in 1974 who also preceded her in death.

She worked at the Annie Wittenmeyer home for two years and worked as a surgical technician for thirty years at the former Mercy Hospital in Davenport. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Plus 60 Club, AARP, Faith United Church of Christ and the Mercy Hospital Retirees Group. She loved to play cards. Dorothy never met a stranger and will be fondly remembered for her "orneriness" and quick wit.

Those left to honor her memory include: granddaughters, Kristina Quigley and Kimberly Kester, both of Altoona, PA; great grandchildren: Emily Kester and Rory Quigley; step-daughter, Betty Charland, Virginia, IL; brother, James Whipple, Clarinda, IA; sister, Frances Wells, Wichita, KS; numerous nieces and nephews including Linda Warner and Wanda Leamon, both of Davenport and her many friends who dearly loved her.

She was preceded in death by a son, Roger, four children in infancy, two sisters, three brothers and a grandson, Ronald Kester.

" I love you all!"
