Born in Toronto on March 14, 1917. Passed away at the University Hospital in London on February 27, 2014 at the age of 96. Loving Mother of Mary and Richard Andrews of London, ON. Loving Grandmother of Elena Andrews and Dr. Michael Andrews of London, ON. Dear sister of Mrs. Delphine Meeke of Windsor, ON. Dear Aunt of Robert, Judy, Jamie, Kristy, Laura-Jo, William "Bill" Meeke Jr., Rosanne, John, Mary-Jane and Charles. Great Aunt of Ian, Sarah, Sherry, Darren, Nikki and J.C. Dear Aunt of Robert, Judy, Jamie, Kristy, Laura-Jo, William "Bill" Meeke Jr., Rosanne, John, Mary-Jane and Charles. Great Aunt of Ian, Sarah, Sherry, Darren, Nikki and J.C. Predeceased by her loving husband, Kenneth George Andrews, her parents James and Sophia Meeke, her sisters Florence Koren and Marjorie LeBlanc, and her brothers Arthur Meeke and William "Bill" Meeke. Dorothy was a member of the Windsor and Detroit Associations of the Deaf. She worked at the Kelsey Wheel Production Plant, during WWII, and she worked for 30 years at the Windsor Post Office. In 2010, she was awarded the Deaf Lifetime Achievement Award. Visitation will take place at the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (1969 Wyandotte St. E.) on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 10:00 am. Archdeacon Jane Humphreys of St. Mary's Anglican Church, Walkerville, will be officiating the service. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens.
