Dorothy May Kidder Brewer, 80, former resident of Oak Street in Valley View, died Friday October 14, 2011 at Villa Georgetown Nursing Home. She was the widow of the late Norman E. Brewer, Sr. Mrs. Brewer was born in Maysville on March 29, 1931, the daughter of the late John Thomas and Jermima Preston Kidder. She was a longtime employee of the Modern Laundry. Mrs. Brewer is survived by her children Rosa Brewer of Maysville, Norman E. (Vera) Brewer of Alexandria and Harry Brewer and Larry (Dottie) Brewer, both of Maysville and 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren two great-great grandchildren, and a special niece Helen Pollitt Dietrich of Ripley, and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her sister Sarah Vantine of Maysville. Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth Brewer, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services for Dorothy Brewer will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Knox & Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Cropper officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Baker, Randy Tucker, Chris Brewer, Richard Kilgore, Jason Coffey, and Billy Brewer Jr. Burial will follow in Charter Oak Cemetery in Aberdeen.
