Dorothy "Dot" Brock
We lost the "real deal" of a lady when Dot passed away on February 4, 2013 from complications after an open heart surgery. Dotti was born in Walla Walla, Washington on March 21, 1947. She was the youngest of five and grew up in Ellensburg, Washington. Dot lived most of her life in the Snoqualmie Valley where she raised her family. She was a "mom" to everyone and graduated high school countless times by taking in so many young people. Dot was a force of nature who worked full-time while giving herself to so many and never knew the word "No". She started her career in banking and was the bookkeeper for G&S Services until her recent retirement in July.
Dot loved telling stories and experiencing the world to come up with those stories. She was very active and loved the outdoors. Growing up on a farm in Ellensburg, she was compassionate to animals, she enjoyed track, and horseback riding. In the Snoqualmie Valley, she was passionate about softball; played on many teams and leagues, coached little league, and recently was on the over 60 Jack & Jill league. She loved camping, going fishing, and was an avid bowler. She was caring, giving, and animated with a lively laugh.
We lost Dot suddenly and unexpectedly so an open casket viewing is Saturday, February 16, 2013 10:00 am - 12:45 pm at the Snoqualmie Valley Funeral Chapel. To share memories please sign the on-line guest book at www.snoqualmievalleychapel.com. Memorial Services is on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Si View Community Center. When I think of you, Dot, two things come to mind. When you married my brother, I was so sad that you took my best friend from me but you were so supportive of me during my tough college years that I forgave you. Your laugh is so distinctive and while on a trip to Stehekin I was standing at the boat landing when I heard your laugh. I hadn't seen you for several years but I knew it was you! I know you will be greatly missed by many but never forgotten as you are a part of all of our memories.

Dot and I reconnected at class reunions. Often when I passed through North Bend we would visit at the Mini Mart. Dot was so positive and upbeat...so fun to be around. It breaks my heart that she went way too soon. We had plans to have lunch in Ellensburg soon. Dot, I will miss you. RIP Dear Sweet Girl. You are really home now.

Dot took me in as a grandson when I was about 5 years old and for that I could never thank her enough. She always went out of her way to make sure my brother Dylan Chouinard and I were taken care of. Her level of selflessness is something that most people will never match. I have a long drive home from work and I made it a ritual to call her on my way home and now every drive home I am reminded of her. Dot loved to tell stories and the one I remember the most was about how I would always crash on my bike so that's where my nickname "Chris Crash" came from. I love you very much Dot.

Your passing has left a big void in my life. I will sorely miss our lengthy telephone conversations where we solved the worlds problems, but never seemed to get a real handle on our own. We shared a lot of good and bad times together. You were always there for me when I needed you. I will miss you very much. Erwin misses you too.

We will always remember Dot. When we traveled through North Bend we would stop and visit Dot at the store. She would always have that great smile and
laugh. When I spoke to her in town a few weeks ago, she said Elllensburg made her feel like she was coming home.

Dot you were always welcoming to me. I don't ever remember a time that you weren't happy to see me, supportive, and welcoming me into your home for dinner, esp. your pork roast! I am sure that on your journey now you are gleaning stories to share with those around you. Rest in peace, Dot. You were a good friend. Your light will be missed.
