Dorothy "Dot" Hogan Cottam, 88, of Memphis, passed away August 21, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. Mrs. Cottam was born in Mason, TN February 23, 1925 and later moved to Memphis where she graduated from Southwestern at Memphis, was president of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. "Miss Dot", as she was known, managed Bozo's Hot Pit Bar-B-Q, a family owned business, for many years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Williams Hogan and her father, Bailey Hogan. Mrs. Cottam leaves five sons, Jerome Allen Cottam, Paul David Cottam, John Lawrence "Larry" Cottam, Thomas Michael "Mike" Cottam (Martha) and Joseph Williams Cottam; three daughters, Dorris Louise Lentz, Mary Allison Carpenter (James) and Margaret "Missy" Elaine Clifton; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 25th, from 5-6:30 pm, with a Rosary following, at Family Funeral Care located on Summer Avenue. Services will be held on Monday August 26, 10 AM. A graveside service will follow Monday, 12:30 PM at Charleston Cemetery in Charleston, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society: Mid-south Chapter.
