Mrs. Dorothy Farmer, age 92 of Marietta, GA passed away Monday, November 15, 2010. Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a wonderful cook and baker. Dorothy was a long-time member of the Baptist Tabernacle in Atlanta and of Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Otis Farmer, Sr. Surviving are sons, Marion Otis Farmer, Jr. (Emilie), Ray Farmer (Gayle); daughter, Patsy Farmer Travis (Stuart); grandchildren, Andy Farmer, Jeffrey Farmer, Mark Farmer, Jenny Hiott, Dan Farmer, Amanda Rangel, Cindy Welch, Tim Farmer, Rich Travis, Rob Travis; and 15 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 18th at 11 am in the chapel at H.M.Patterson & Son, Canton Hill with Dr. Gerald Harris and Dr. David Chauncey officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends this evening from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. On-line condolences may be placed at www.hmpattersoncantonhill.com. Ray and Gayle, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mrs. Farmer. I wish I could be there to express my condolences in person. As you probably know I have been in Delaware since October 24th and I won't be home until the 30th of Nov. Please except my sympathy. I know what it is to miss your parent. My prayers are with you.
