Dorothy D. Ford, 85 of Pensacola passed peacefully and traveled to be with the Lord, November 15, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her one true love, husband of 64 years, Kenneth M. Ford; youngest daughter, Debra L. Buchner; parents, Francis and Eva Ward; brothers, Burvee Ward, John "Jiggs" Ward and sister, Joyce Hodges.
Survivors include her brother, William "Billy" Ward; sister, Ruth Bryans; loving daughter, Kathryn "Kathy" Gosselin; granddaughter, Jennifer J. Hooton; grandsons, Jonathan and Joseph McGhee; great granddaughters, Kirsten Seals and Courtney Hooton; and many other family and friends.
Dorothy was born in Pensacola, Florida and had many accomplishments and interest throughout her life including; retirement from Monsanto; a passionate reader, good home cooking, listening to her favorite singer Patsy Cline; crocheting, spending time with family and friends; and nurturing her personal relationship with the Lord. We will dearly miss our Mom, Granny and Great Granny.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Emerald Coast Hospice of Pensacola, 1555 North Palafox Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.

We will always remember our time with Dorothy when visiting FL. She was a loving, caring person,and made us feel right at home. Dorothy will always be in our thoughts and prayers. We all can feel solace that she is in God's loving arms, and at peace. So very sorry for your loss, she will greatly missed.

My family adopted the Fords as family having lived next door for 14 years, and were blessed to have had them in our lives. Theirs was a life of true love that is seldom appreciated as it is happening. Thank you Mrs Dot for many wonderful memories. The Corbitt Family

We are so sorry for your loss. Dorothy was such a beautiful women. She was so kind, sweet and warm. I will never forget how welcome she made us feel when we would come to Florida to visit. God blessed us on earth with her, now He is blessed with her coming home to Him. She was a very special lady who I am glad I had the pleasure to meet. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
