Obituary

Dorothy Nell Hohmann passed to our Heavenly Father on Monday, June 17, 2013, two days shy of her 83rd birthday. Dorothy was born in Austin, Texas on June 19, 1930 to Alla and Thomas Williams. She attended Austin High School and later married the love of her life, Melvin Hohmann on May 27, 1950. From this union, two daughters were born, Sharron Krueger and Linda Sochacki. Dorothy worked for Caviness Brown and at the University of Texas Tower but remained a homemaker for most of her life. She dearly loved to knit, crochet and do needlework. Dorothy Nell Hohmann passed to our Heavenly Father on Monday, June 17, 2013, two days shy of her 83rd birthday.

Dorothy was born in Austin, Texas on June 19, 1930 to Alla and Thomas Williams. She attended Austin High School and later married the love of her life, Melvin Hohmann on May 27, 1950. From this union, two daughters were born, Sharron Krueger and Linda Sochacki.

Dorothy worked for Caviness Brown and at the University of Texas Tower but remained a homemaker for most of her life. She dearly loved to knit, crochet and do needlework. Dorothy was a member of the Onion Creek Order of the Eastern Star for many years. She also bowled for more than 30 years with the Austin Women's Bowling Association and the Austin Saengerrunde Bowling Club. Dorothy treasured her many friends from bowling and her Sunday School classes. She was a member of Bannockburn Baptist Church.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Alla and Thomas Williams; her husband, Melvin Hohmann; brother, Robert Williams; and sisters, Gladys Williams and Dorris Smith.

She is survived by her two daughters and their spouses, Sharron Krueger (Butch) and Linda Sochacki (Miles); three granddaughters and their spouses, Kimberley Wehmeyer (Cody), Traci Keck (Derek), and Tammy Sochacki; and by three great-grandchildren, Sarah and Kyle Keck and Brandon Wehmeyer.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, Texas.

Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be Butch Krueger, Miles Sochacki, Cody Wehmeyer, Derek Keck, David Smith, and David Wehmeyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Karlene and Conrad Hiser and Gayle and Bob Remlinger.

A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Punit Chadha and the nurses at Texas Oncology South Austin, along with the nurses and staff at Hospice Austin. We will be eternally grateful.
