Funeral services for Dorothy Maxine Nix, age 83 of Tyler, will be 2:00PM Friday, May 9, 2014, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Evans officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Nix was born on March 8, 1931 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Thomas Lee & Elsie Emily Willet Farrar and passed away on May 6, 2014 in Tyler. Formerly of Longview, Mrs. Nix lived in Tyler area about 60 years, was a member of Westlake Baptist Church and the Forest Grove Ladies Auxillary. Mrs. Nix was born on March 8, 1931 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Thomas Lee & Elsie Emily Willet Farrar and passed away on May 6, 2014 in Tyler. Formerly of Longview, Mrs. Nix lived in Tyler area about 60 years, was a member of Westlake Baptist Church and the Forest Grove Ladies Auxillary.

Survivors include her husband, Clifton Leon Nix of Tyler, son, Roy Nix and wife Vanessa, of Troup; daughters, Linda Smith and husband David, of Fort Worth, Barbara Nix, of Tyler, Donna Best, of Keller, Kathy Wilder and husband John, of Lindale; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Jamie Johnson, of Utah.

Mrs. Nix was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rosemary Green; and grandson, Stephen Epperson Jr.

Pallbearers will be Preston Byrd, Cannon Green, Kevin Nix, Matthew Rains, Christopher Rains & Justin Sherwood.

Visitation will be Thursday 6-8PM at the Funeral Home.

Arrangements under the direction of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home - Cemetery and Mausoleum, Tyler, Texas.
