Dorothy (Dottie) will be deeply missed and loved by everyone she touched. She was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, and friend, with a heart of gold. She devoted her life to her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters Roberta Bartlett (& husband Chuck), and Christie Sands; her step-daughter Judy Hogan (& husband Jim), her grandchildren children Rebecca North, Christina Kissinger, James North Jr., William North, Nicholas Melesurgo, Alyssa Melesurgo, Timothy Hogan, Deanna Vera (& husband Mark), Craig Sands (& wife Lorena), Michael Sands (& wife Stephanie), Ron Sands (& wife Rebecca), and Jessica Smith; her great grandchildren Makenna Melesurgo, Brie Hogan, Jack Kissinger, Sebastian Vera, Jake Sands, Nicole Sands, Racheal Sands, and Jonathan Sands; her sister Eva Norton, and her brother Frank Psaradelis; and many endearing nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Dottie worked as a Technical Librarian for McDonnell Douglas, and before that she was the Librarian for her church. She loved working with books, and told everyone how much she loved the smell of them.

Dottie also loved to play bridge and poker, and often played board games with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, and kept her family close by preparing all the holiday meals. She also loved gardening, and took great pride in her annual tomato garden, which she lovingly shared with all her neighbors.

Services will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park (300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, CA) on Friday, September 23, 11:00am graveside. Dorothy will be laid to rest with her husband Robert Ray Sands. Donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice (727-HOSPICE) of Florida or the Alzheimer's organization.
