Dear Stephens Cousins, I was so sad to hear about Dottie's passing. What a wonderful soul she was. You were all so blessed to have had such a wonderful mother and friend. I was blessed to have been able to spend some time with her on July 18th at her home and over lunch in Smithfield. I so enjoyed visiting with her and hearing her stories about her kids. She sure loved you all.
She will be missed, but most certainly is enjoying the company shes keeping now.
Love cousin Mark.

My heart is heavy to hear that such a beautiful person has left us but also happy to know that Dottie is at rest and at home with the Lord she often spoke about.
As a former neighbor and "neighborhood grass cutter", I could always count on encouraging words,a good laugh, and a good plate of food topped off with a piece of cake or candy. She would often come to her door and say "dollbaby, here is your dinner so you don't have to worry about cooking." She is responsible for my extra pounds, but I gained much more than that, I gained a beautiful friendship with a beautiful person. I will miss her as I did when I left the neighborhood. My only regret is not seeing her as often once I moved.
Dottie, I love you and will miss you. My prayers go out to the family who always greeted me with a smile and a thank you. The world needs more Dotties. Be blessed.

This world will miss Dottie! She kept Jesus' command that we "Love each other as I have loved you." (John 15:12) She always made sure that everyone who came into her presence had a brighter day! I'll miss her saying to me "I love you, Sugar." I loved her, too. God bless all, Bev
