In the immortal words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "Next to the word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world."
Music was an intricate part of my Dad's life and it seemed to ease all the pain and ugliness of the world. And when he played music it was very, very smooth for all of us too. Smooth as the "Satin Tones", one of his earlier groups. My father, Douglas "Big D" DuBois, was a big part of the music industry. Some might say he was a "musician extraordinaire". He once played for former President, George H. W. Bush. This is a profoundly sad day for our family. Our patriarch was called home by the Lord and he turned and walked away, for his work is done. He's in Heaven now, where there is no pain, only peace and happiness forever. I am taking this time to thank all his family, friends, and anyone who has ever been a part of his musical career. And all the people that have gotten to know Douglas over his lifetime. He was very endearing to us, a great man, father friend and person so full of love, understand, peace and strength.
