Obituary

Doug Homann, age 66, passed away suddenly Friday, December 27, 2013 at home. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He served his country in the United States Air Force as a Crew Chief from 1965 to 1969. Doug was co-owner, with his son, of H & M Towing. He was an animal lover, and through the years, he worked hard to rehabilitate many different species of wildlife. Doug collected cars of all sizes (full size and model cars); with '55, '56, and '57 Chevy's being his favorites. He also enjoyed movies of any type. Doug is survived by the light of his life: Pauline Homann; children: Christine McDonald, Freddy McDonald, Sherri (Dennis) Palmieri, Deborah James, Jennifer (Randy) Donovan, and Jessi Homann; grandchildren: Michael Rose, Araya Cipolini, Jeffrey James, Aiden Palmieri, and Avery Donovan; sisters: Janice (Jack) Steffey, and Patricia (Ernie) Fletcher; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frederick W. and Dorothy Homann and by grandson: Shane L. Clifton. A memorial visitation will be held 2-7 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes, Clinton Twp., MI; with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
