Doyle P. "Joe" Murphy, 81, of El Dorado, went to his Heavenly Home, Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born on December 22, 1930, to William Davis and Evie Murphy in Urbana, AR. D.P. was a retired fireman, painting contractor and poultry grower. He was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church, where he received the R.A. Vernon Father's Day Award in 2009. His gentle nature touched many lives, and he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Doyle P. "Joe" Murphy, 81, of El Dorado, went to his Heavenly Home, Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born on December 22, 1930, to William Davis and Evie Murphy in Urbana, AR.

D.P. was a retired fireman, painting contractor and poultry grower. He was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church, where he received the R.A. Vernon Father's Day Award in 2009. His gentle nature touched many lives, and he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Dorothy Juanita Murphy; brothers, Harold and Dave Murphy; and sister, Hazel Roberts.

Survivors include his three sons, Joe Eldon Murphy (Chris) of El Dorado, Charlie Murphy (Karen) of Hunnington, AR, Richard Murphy (Sue) of El Dorado; two brothers, Troy Murphy of Urbana, Gene Murphy (Shirley) of Shreveport, LA; three sisters, Patsy Rogers of El Dorado, Ruby Sherrick of Crossett, Nelda Wooten of Urbana; six grandchildren, Rich Murphy, II, Ben Murphy, Will Murphy, Amy Fulco, all of El Dorado, Hannah and Rachel Murphy of Hunnington, AR; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Alan Womack officiating. Burial will follow at Green Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
