Mrs. Dudley Arrington, 95, of Wichita Falls passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 12, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church, 3601 Taft Blvd. with Dr. Isaac Butterworth officiating.
Mrs. Arrington was born on November 30, 1916, in Corpus Christi, TX, to Charles and Edna McClendon. She married Victor P. Arrington on June 11, 1938, in Brownwood, TX, and they were married for 48 years until his death in 1986.
Mrs. Arrington served in various positions at Sheppard Air Force Base for almost 30 years until her retirement in 1978. She then went on to graduate from Bethania School of Vocational Nursing in 1983 at the age of 66. She was the first LVN when Hospice of Wichita Falls began operations in April of 1985 and worked there for ten years. Mrs. Arrington was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Wichita Falls for 61 years and was a resident of Presbyterian Manor for 30 years. She was a volunteer with Interfaith Ministries for over 20 years.
Survivors include children David Arrington and wife, Carol, of Portsmouth, NH; Judith Arrington Sanderson and husband, Donald, of Bear Creek, PA; and Robin McWhorter and husband, Larry, of Wichita Falls; grandchildren Rachel Arrington and Ruth Arrington Parent, both of Orono, ME, Adam Williams of Portsmouth, NH, Seth Williams of Dover, NH, Megan Zadig of Stoneham, MA, David Sanderson of Arlington, MA, Philip Sanderson of Ft. Collins, CO, and Jason McWhorter of Mansfield, TX; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Bob McClendon and Julia (Pat) Colehour, both of Ft. Worth, TX, and Mary Nell Engstrom of Denton, TX.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Arrington was preceded in death by two infant sons; a sister, Sarah Parker; and brothers, Mickey, Bill, and Jack McClendon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd. 76310 or First Presbyterian Church Foundation, 3601 Taft Blvd, Wichita Falls, TX, 76308.

Deirdre Williams
I went to LVN school with Dudley. She was so inspiring and such a wonderful lady. I am sure she will be missed by many. I am honored to have been acquainted with her as we journied through to accomplish one of the most rewarding career choices. My sympathy goes out to her family.
