My condolences to the Farr family. I regret that I was unable to say goodbye to my cousin in which I hunted & fished with for a lifetime. Dwight Sr. always made me feel as though DR and I were more than cousins, but brothers. At this time, I too was having cardio issues. Ron Burnley

Words cannot express how sorry we are to hear of D.R.'s passing. He had become a dear friend to our family. We looked forward to his visits during deer season. He truly loved to hunt and spend time in the outdoors. I was so amazed when he returned a few years back that he remembered the day I (Sami) killed my first deer from 20 plus years ago, he remembered as much about it as I did. Our family is proud to have given D.R. and the boys and families a place to stay together in Arkansas for them to have quality family time. We will miss him. Each of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to all the family of Dwight Farr. I remember him well at GM Fairfax. He worked hard and fought hard for a livable contract for all UAW 31 members.
May he rest in eternal peace.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Dwight Russell Farr, Jr. our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Dwight. And to Dwight it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Quemoy/Matsu Chrisis of 1958 while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Dwight, we commend you for your honorable service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 233 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Dwight's family and loved ones.
