EJ Bailey Obituary

E.J. Bailey, of Daytona Beach, FL, passed peacefully in his sleep on June 24, 2013 at the age of 86. He was born in 1927 in Montgomery County, NC to Pearl and Paul Bailey.
E.J. was a former employee of the Daytona Beach International Airport for eighteen years. He served in the United States Army where he was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post No. 400. He was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach.
Preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Myrtle B. Bailey, their daughter Cyndi B. Rehberg (Ron) and son Niles L. Bailey (Sandy) along with three grandchildren, Cameron R. Ambers (Aaron), Carri Leigh Rehberg, David Alex Bailey and great-granddaughter Savannah Ambers, along with many nieces and nephews.
E.J. was full of life and will be remembered by his family and friends as a man who loved the Lord, his family and friends. He enjoyed many activities some of which included fishing, boating, traveling, watching the NASCAR races, old movies and nightly game shows. He loved to pull pranks and tell a joke or two.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday June 29, 2013 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home. 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday June 28 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM and Saturday from 10:00AM until the time of service. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.volusiamemorialfunerals.com. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach.
