Ethel Hays .. a beautiful Lady and dear friend! So dedicated to her family, friends, VFW Auxillary, everyone whose lives she touched! She definitely touched mine .. by being such a good friend to my mother (Bonnie Hamlin) and myself over the years. Judy and Bonnie, I'm so sorry I wasn't there to pay my respects. I just read about your Mom in the VFW newsletter. I didn't know or I would have been there. I loved her so much! You're family is in my thoughts and prayers, today and always. Becky

I am grateful to have had the privilege of knowing Ethel, to know her was to love her. Ethel was a very caring lady always inquiring, "how are you doing?" So much so that I made it a game to see if I could ask her how she was doing before she asked me. She always won! Ethel passed this caring nature down to her beloved daughters, Judy and Bonnie, who took much loving care of their mother. Ethel is with God in the mansion he prepared for her...rest well my dear friend, I will miss you.

Ethel was such a fine lady. Of all the people I remember working with in CCA {Radio Station}collecting trash for cash,I never forgot Ethel.I do regret not spending more time seeing or talking with her in these later days. When I was ill in 2009 & 2010, she went out of her way to get my address and send me a card. That meant so much to me.I know where you are at dear Ethel and I hope you will be there to greet me down the road.Bert Ondak

It is difficult to think of our Ethel being gone, but easy to think of some of the words to describe her - dedicated, caring, loving, helpful, generous, patriotic, strong willed, determined, and sharp as a tack - are a few that easily come to mind, there are so many many more. Ethel was a truly dedicated member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and Military Order of the Cootie Women's Auxiliary (MOCA). Ethel was actively serving as Treasurer of MOCA #1 until this past month; it was her 18th year in that position, talk about dedication! Those of us that had the pleasure of knowing Ethel have been blessed, she stands as a shining example of goodness and she shall be dearly missed. With loving thoughts from the Officers and members of MOCA #1.
