Earl Aaron Chasteen, loving son, husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. He was born on April 18, 1951, in Middletown, Ohio. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda, with whom he recently celebrated 40 wonderful years of marriage; parents, James Everett and Sarah Chasteen; son, James Scott (Melanie); and daughters Jennifer (Daniel) Rodriguez and Elizabeth (Jason) Robles; grandchildren Greyson and Archer Chasteen and Malcolm Rodriguez; sister Becky (Bob) Miller; and brothers Jim (Thoy) Chasteen and Gary (Laura) Chasteen; and numerous...
Earl Aaron Chasteen, loving son, husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. He was born on April 18, 1951, in Middletown, Ohio. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda, with whom he recently celebrated 40 wonderful years of marriage; parents, James Everett and Sarah Chasteen; son, James Scott (Melanie); and daughters Jennifer (Daniel) Rodriguez and Elizabeth (Jason) Robles; grandchildren Greyson and Archer Chasteen and Malcolm Rodriguez; sister Becky (Bob) Miller; and brothers Jim (Thoy) Chasteen and Gary (Laura) Chasteen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Earl had a career spanning more than 30 years with General Motors, retiring in 2006. He was a long-time member of Northwest Hills United Methodist Church, serving in various volunteer leadership positions. He loved nature and enjoyed visiting national parks throughout the country, especially the Great Smoky Mountains. Earl was a kind, strong and caring man as well as a loyal friend who always lent a hand to help anyone in need. He was an inspiration to us all. He was known for his wicked sense of humor in all situations, even while undergoing cancer treatment. His steadfast and unshakable faith in Jesus fueled his indomitable spirit and positive attitude, which was an inspiration to all. He will be terribly missed but his memory will live in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Thursday, April 12, 2012, 6 – 8 p.m., 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Northwest Hills United Methodist Church on Friday, April 13, 2012, 10:30 a.m. 7575 Tezel Road, San Antonio, Texas. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Northwest Hills United Methodist Church or The American Cancer Society.
