Obituary

Youngmeyer, Earl W. Jr. of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 31, 2012 at the age of 88, with his loving wife by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Porter Youngmeyer, his sister, Joan Youngmeyer and first wife Terri Duncan Youngmeyer. Earl is survived by devoted wife, Maureen and her family; mother-in-law, Angie M. Roach, sister-in-law, Ann Roach, niece, Elise Bain, brothers-in-law, Tony Roach (Cathy), Paul Roach (Michelle), Fran Roach (Rania) and many nieces and nephews. Youngmeyer, Earl W. Jr. of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 31, 2012 at the age of 88, with his loving wife by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Porter Youngmeyer, his sister, Joan Youngmeyer and first wife Terri Duncan Youngmeyer. Earl is survived by devoted wife, Maureen and her family; mother-in-law, Angie M. Roach, sister-in-law, Ann Roach, niece, Elise Bain, brothers-in-law, Tony Roach (Cathy), Paul Roach (Michelle), Fran Roach (Rania) and many nieces and nephews. He also left behind his beloved dogs Snowball and Topsy. Earl will be remembered for his love of family and country as well as his love of golf and travel. Earl will also be remembered for his expert knowledge of photography and avid interest in nature. He was involved with many charitable, political, educational and philanthropic organizations as well as being an active lifetime member of the PGA. Earl was also a fifty-eight year member of the Ambassadors of the Midian Shrine, a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, the Blue Lodge, the National Sojourners Association and a thirty year member of the Las Vegas Founders Association. He was a longstanding member of the 1895 WSU Club and an enthusiastic fan of WSU baseball and basketball teams. Kansas and the prairie were great loves of Earl's. He was a skilled cattle rancher and a lifetime member of the Kansas Livestock Association. Earl proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of the US Navy League and an active member of the American Legion. In addition, Earl was a member of the Republican National Committee for many years. Earl was always a loving husband and a caring friend. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held on, Friday, September 21st at High Noon at the College Hill Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy.
