Edith Marie Schwartz was born in Rock, Michigan to Jack and Mary Jokinen on September 5, 1926. She passed away peacefully in Livonia, Michigan on September 10, 2017, under the gentle care of Arbor Hospice, at the age of 91.
Edith was the beloved wife of the late Arnold M. Schwartz for almost 40 years until his death on September 10, 1988. Loving mother of Susan Wilson and Sandra (Richard) Schwartz-Ferguson. Dear grandmother of Carrie (Sean) Goldie. Great grandmother of Dale Philip Goldie, Adam Thomas Goldie and Kyle James Goldie.
Edith worked as a retail clerk for many happy years. She started out at Sanders which is where she met her husband Arnold. She also worked at Montgomery Ward. Edith had a passion for rescuing cats. There was always a cat or two in the house with Edith.
Edith's family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 25450 Plymouth Road, (Just east of Beech Daly) Redford, Michigan 48239. The service will be led by Brian Sampson of Dearborn Congregational Church.
Edith will be laid to rest privately with her husband, Arnold in Woodmere Cemetery.
