Edith Whitaker (Pat) Myers, 87, of Winston-Salem passed away June 19, 2017. She was born May 23, 1930 to Walsey and Myrtle Whitaker. After working her childhood years in tobacco fields, she moved to Winston-Salem at 16 to work for Hanes, and spent her adult years transferring medical records to microfilm and microfiche.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Myers; her brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Monette Whitaker; her brother-in-law, Gray White, two infant brothers and her parents. She is survived by her sister, Judy White of Eden; her niece, Wendy Moser (Sam) of Dobson, and her nephews Ken (Amy) and Wally White of Eden.
A graveside service will be held at Crestview Cemetery, 6850 University Pkwy, Rural Hall, NC on Wednesday, June 21 at 10am. Donations can be made to her church, Marvin United Methodist Church, or the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
