Edna I. Brown, 89, of the Orangeburg Community died Friday, October 18, 2013 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Brown was the widow of Johnnie Brown. She retired in 1990 from the Mason County Board of Education after twenty two of service. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Orangeburg Christian Church, the Christian Women's Fellowship, the Orangeburg Homemaker's and the Orangeburg Lion's Club. She was born in Denver, Colorado on August 11, 1924 the daughter of the late John Samuel and Emma Lee Sparks Fields. Edna I. Brown, 89, of the Orangeburg Community died Friday, October 18, 2013 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Brown was the widow of Johnnie Brown. She retired in 1990 from the Mason County Board of Education after twenty two of service. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Orangeburg Christian Church, the Christian Women's Fellowship, the Orangeburg Homemaker's and the Orangeburg Lion's Club. She was born in Denver, Colorado on August 11, 1924 the daughter of the late John Samuel and Emma Lee Sparks Fields. Mrs. Brown was raised in Tollesboro, Kentucky by her maternal grandparents, the late George and Mamie Davenport. She is survived by her five daughters, Lana Caudill (Butch), Bettie Truesdell (Gayle), Faye Merritt (Jerry), Kaye Hardeman (Jack), all of Maysville and Theresa Arrasmith (Barry) of Flemingsburg, KY; her son, Julian Brown of Orangeburg; one daughter-in-law, Darlene Brown of Orangeburg; twenty two grandchildren and numerous, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Russell Brown and George Edward Brown and several siblings. Funeral services for Edna Brown will be held at the Orangeburg Christian Church at 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2013 with Rev. Norman Wasson officiating. Burial will be in the Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Barbour and Son Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 8 PM.
