Edsel Mollohan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 21, 2013.

Edsel Clyde Mollohan, age 83 of Beavercreek, OH, died at the Veterans Administration Hospice unit just after midnight, September 21, 2013. For many years he was a well-respected Chiropractor in southwest Ohio. Dr. Mollohan, or Doc, as he preferred to be called, served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a decorated Korean War veteran, having been awarded two Purple Hearts for his heroic service at the Chosin Reservoir. He loved cooking and baking, but was always looking for any reason to go fishing. He had a huge impact on family and friends with his appetite for life and his tender heart of gold. He is survived by his two brothers, Mike Mollohan and John Mollohan; His son Edsel Mollohan II of Centerville and daughter, Cindy Taylor of Beavercreek. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tim Taylor, Susie Taylor, Patrick Taylor and Nathan Mollohan, one great-grandson, Aidan Mollohan. All other family members and close friends will miss him. He passed away on Victory Ridge, a wing of the VA Hospice unit. It is very apropos that he fought in a major war, lived life hard and ended strong on Victory Ridge. Friends maygather with the family for refreshments at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. on Monday evening, September 23 from 6:30PM until 8 PM to share their memories of Doc. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Victory Ridge Hospice Unit at the Dayton VA Medical Center.

Doc was my first friend in Tucson (35 years ago). We had many great experiences here. He even built bookcases for me and helped putting gutters on my house. I learned a lot from him. My wife and I visited him a few times in Ohio after he left Tucson and his hospitality was great,..just the same as ever. We left with wonderful vegetables from his fine garden too. A marvelous person. So long, Doc.
