Uncle Eddie
A hundred times I need you.
A hundred times I've cried.
If love alone could save you,
Never would you have died.
The world seems cold and empty,
Though the sun shines on my face.
I ache to hear you tell me the things,
We often would retrace.
I call, but you don't answer.
I reach but you're not there.
I whisper into my aching heart
How life seems so unfair.
I never thought I'd lose you,
I never saw you gone.
You were always 10 feet tall,
Bulletproof and strong.
I don't know how to let you go.
I don't know how to say goodbye.
Instead I just push it away
And lay my head and cry.
You always have been my hero,
From the day I can recall.
I should have known better, though.
Because even 48 years was not enough.
To share the bond we had.
But it was long enough to know,
I love you, Uncle Dad/EDDIE

O Lord, life just isn't the same since my uncle died;
I will never forget how he stood by my side.
I keep reminiscing about the times we shared,
I keep thinking about how much he cared.
Lord, I'm doing all I can to try to stay strong,
It feels as though a part of me is gone.
Each time I think of him my grief increase,
O Lord, please share a word that will give my heart peace
