Poem selected by Sean-Michael, grandson, in honor of his beloved grandfather:
When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears,
But be thankful we had so many good years.
I gave you my love, and you can only guess
How much you've given me in happiness.
I thank you for the love that you have shown,
But now it is time I traveled on alone.
So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
That it is only for a while that we must part,
So treasure the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away for life goes on.
And if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All my love around you soft and clear
And then, when you come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home".

Ed you will be missed and not forgot. I feel honored to have been part of your life. You always had something to share with us all from your knowledge to your jokes. One of the momories that sticks on my mind is how cool it was that no matter where we would go to eat there was always someone who knew you. Carol and family I am sorry for our loss of such a great man. I will miss him.

For years Ed and I went to breakfast at Bob's Big Boy before work. We always enjoyed spending time together. He always looked out for his parents, and it is clear Ed carried on the tradition of placing importance on family after we lost contact. Ed, you will be missed.

I remember the first words Ed ever spoke to me and knowing then that he had changed my life forever. What I did not know at that time was just how great an impact he would eventually have on both myself and my family. His love for my mom, my sister and myself and the relationships he developed and so dearly treasured with my boys, was steadfast and heartfelt, no matter what. His ability to find the best in everyone and his willingness to make his opinions known on the matter should be a lesson to all of us. I love that he appreciated the simplest things in life. I love how joyous he was when he came home from an opera. I love that aside from something involving a tool or an oven, he knew just about EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING. I love that he learned to use Google. I love that he could explain anyone's shortcomings so that they didn't appear as a shortcoming at all. I love that he marched to his own beat and stayed true to him self always. I love the hilarious one-liners he would spout out on occasion and when least expected. Most of all, I love him and all that he was. My life is fuller for having known him. Thank you for picking us Ed, I will miss you every day.

Hello Carol, as you know my uncle Ed and I shared the passion for architecture, I want to tell you something you may not know, when I was a child, I remember that Ed came from the USA with an ARCHITECTURAL TOY for me, it was my favorite toy ever, he planted a seed in my soul, he knew I was going to be an architect. How? I don´t know, but I guess that´s what goodfathers are supposed to do. GOD BLESS HIM. Thank you Carol for being his one true love.

Hi Ed: It is hard for me to understand you are not with us anymore. I am sure you are now in a beautiful place. I will miss not being able to call you over the phone and talk about so many things but I am happy we did some days ago and you were always so cheerful. It comforts me to know you met your soulmate in your wife Carol and had a family who loves you so much. Your extended family also loves you and will miss you, sister Carmen and brother in law, Real.

Guayito I remember the countless days we spent playing chess, trying to play the piano and our talks about art, politics, science and people from where I learned a grat deal. I remember the judges love to read your reports for their accountability and literary beauty. One of your favorite words were "Spectacular" you admire spectacular things yet you were humble. My condolences to Carol his beloved wife, his sister Carmen Aida and Augusto his brother. Roberto Micheo Los Angeles California

I always enjoyed the many conversations that Ed and I had about classical music, and especially about opera. Ed always seemed to have the series tickets to everything at the Dorothy Chandler Music Center, and the joy he got from attending these performances was enormous. Ed also had amazing knowledge of human behavior and of the workings of the Probation Dept.
It is really sad that his retirement life was cut so short and so suddenly, but I am certain that Ed is constantly attending musical performances in Heaven.

There is much to say about a man that walks with such kindness and that has a soul like Eds. A man that loves the sites in the world and loves the people that surround him. You have touched me with your kindness and you will be missed.
