Edward "Eddie" Scottie Gunby, a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Port Vincent, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Born on July 20, 1949, he was 64 years old. He was a decorated US Army Veteran who served in Vietnam and a long haul truck driver who retired from Groendyke Transportation.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Kleinpeter; three children and their spouses, Scottie & Anna Gunby, Candice and Neal Sanders, and Susan Caroline Gunby; wife, Linda Gunby; two brothers, Jeff and Byron Gunby; seven grandchildren, Paul, Brandon, Keeghan, and Abby Gunby, Madison and Bryce Sanders, and Katelyn Vampran; and his "honorary" grandchildren, Corey, Chris, Aimee, Bailey, Justin, Dustin, Brandy, Bucko, and Mason.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Gunby; sister, Judy Whitaker; and a granddaughter, Mercedes Sanders.
A memorial gathering will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 6 pm until 9 pm. Gathering will resume on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 10 am until 11 am. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Prairieville.

Lord we had some great times growing up, you taught me to drive that bad boy roadrunner back in 69, you brought the love of my life to me I still have all the letters you sent me while in Viet Nam.
