Edward Raymond Kanewske, Jr. passed on into eternal life at his Temple, Texas residence on January 5, 2014. Ed was born on August 21, 1924 in Beaumont, Texas. He was the son of Jewel Dolores Dinan and Edward Raymond Kanewske. He grew up in Port Arthur, Texas. Ed served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II and received a BS in management engineering from Texas A&M University in 1949. He worked for Texaco, Inc. in Port Arthur and later in Houston. After retiring, he and his wife Helen Margie moved to Temple, Texas. Ed was a past member of the Lions Club and the Toastmasters. Edward Raymond Kanewske, Jr. passed on into eternal life at his Temple, Texas residence on January 5, 2014.

Ed was born on August 21, 1924 in Beaumont, Texas. He was the son of Jewel Dolores Dinan and Edward Raymond Kanewske. He grew up in Port Arthur, Texas. Ed served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II and received a BS in management engineering from Texas A&M University in 1949. He worked for Texaco, Inc. in Port Arthur and later in Houston. After retiring, he and his wife Helen Margie moved to Temple, Texas.

Ed was a past member of the Lions Club and the Toastmasters. He was a member of the Central Texas Area Model Railroaders, the Knights of Columbus, and an active parishioner at St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 59 years, Helen Margie Eden Kanewske.

Survivors include his son Edward Craig Kanewske and wife Kathy of Austin, daughter Helen Deborah Van Orden and husband Charles of Temple, and eight grandchildren: Stuart Van Orden, Evan Van Orden, Anna Van Orden Rangel, Lauren Van Orden, Chris Kanewske, Eden Kanewske Benavidez, Justin Kanewske, Cohen Kanewske, and six great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his half-brother Tom Dinan, brother Joe Kanewske, sister Doris Whitmire, and their families.

Pallbearers will be Stuart Van Orden, Evan Van Orden, Chris Kanewske, Justin Kanewske, and Cohen Kanewske.

A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 7 p.m., on Tuesday evening at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, Temple. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
