Edward D. Lobdell, Jr. 83, passed away on January 10, 2014 Born in Glenridge, New Jersey, on June 26, 1930, to Edward Lobdell and Mildred James Lobdell. Married Patsy Ann McGlamery, May 30, 1953, in Tucson, Arizona. He retired as a LTC, US Army in 1975, having served in Germany, Korea, Vietnam and various US stations. His decorations include two Bronze Stars, two Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal and various service ribbons and foreign decorations. Born in Glenridge, New Jersey, on June 26, 1930, to Edward Lobdell and Mildred James Lobdell. Married Patsy Ann McGlamery, May 30, 1953, in Tucson, Arizona. He retired as a LTC, US Army in 1975, having served in Germany, Korea, Vietnam and various US stations. His decorations include two Bronze Stars, two Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal and various service ribbons and foreign decorations. He has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Arizona and a Masters degree in business from the University of Texas at El Paso. After retirement from the Army, he worked for Bixler & Company, CPA's for over 35 years. Mr. Lobdell was a long time member of the El Paso Downtown Lion's Club and served as their President in 1979-80. He was also active with the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and served as president of the El Paso Chapter in 1994-95. He was a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Military Order of the World Wars. He was predeceased by his daughter, Leslie Fletcher, who fought in a valiant two year battle against breast cancer. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Ann Lobdell, daughter Linda Johnson, son-in-laws, Mark Johnson and Jamie Fletcher, grandchildren Jacob and Melody Johnson and Rachel and Jennifer Fletcher. Visitation will be held Tuesday January 14, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. with Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Central. Graveside services will be held Wednesday January 15, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Ft Bliss National Cemetery. Interment will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the El Paso Downtown Lions Club at 513 Mallroy Ct. El Paso TX, 79912, at 1700 Murchison Dr El Paso TX, 79902, Immanuel Christian School Scholarship Fund 1201 Hawkins Blvd El Paso TX, 79925 or charity of your choice.
