E. BRUCE MILLER "PAPA" FORMERLY OF MERRILLVILLE, IN Bruce Miller, age 57, formerly of Merrillville, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2014 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Bruce was born November 6, 1956 in Hammond to Herbert and Suzanne (Sipe) Miller. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives. On August 28, 1976 Bruce married Lynn (Miszewski) Miller; she survives. Also surviving is his son, Jason (Karen) Miller; grandchildren: James, Austin and Gavin Miller; brothers: Dave, Scott and Mike (Jackie) Miller; sisters: Toby (Dan) Dolph and Tracy Miller. Bruce was born November 6, 1956 in Hammond to Herbert and Suzanne (Sipe) Miller. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives. On August 28, 1976 Bruce married Lynn (Miszewski) Miller; she survives. Also surviving is his son, Jason (Karen) Miller; grandchildren: James, Austin and Gavin Miller; brothers: Dave, Scott and Mike (Jackie) Miller; sisters: Toby (Dan) Dolph and Tracy Miller. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Miller. Mr. Miller was a board member and coach for Merrillville Pop Warner football for over 20 years. He also helped coach basketball for Pierce Middle School, and Track and Field for Merrillville High School. Bruce helped sponsor many sports leagues in the Merrillville area. He was a loving and devoted husband, an active father, and loved being a "Papa". Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 South Cline Ave., Schererville, IN 46375). Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given towards Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago in honor of his son, Jimmy.
