QUIRK, Edward W., July 9, 1924-July 11, 2014. Eddie Quirk passed away peacefully at the age of 90 (plus 2 days) after a short stay at hospice house (Sun City, FL). Eddie was married to Edith Quirk who preceded him to haven on Feb. 6, 2013. They were married 54 years and responsible for raising 8 children. The children in order of age: Richard Weinberg, Leslie Keplinger, Garry Quirk, Wayne Quirk, Christine Mozur, Gail Ladd, Carol Hurard and Edward Quirk (E. W.). These eight children produced (21) grandchildren. Richard Weinberg's (5), Leslie (2), Garry (2), Wayne (3), Chris (2), Gail (3), Carol (1) and E.W. (3). These grandchildren produced several great grandchildren. Eddie worked for G. E. his entire career. He started out at an entry level position and ended up working internationally with G.E. as an engineer. He also was a Second Class Boatswain Mate in the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. He was a huge Notre Dame football fan. He knew some of the players at Notre Dame because he attended high school (Lynn Classical) with them. He played football with a legendary person in the New England area in early 1940's (Harry Agganis). Eddie was an active athletic educator for children. He coached baseball at senior league level in Forest Hills in the 1960's. He also was an umpire throughout Hillsborough County in the 1950's and 1960's. Eddie's biggest accomplishments were introducing all his children to the ways of Jesus Christ. Eddie is a devout catholic and a great representative of Catholicism. He was very persuasive to everyone the importance of Jesus Christ route to Salvation. Eddie's last place of residence was Savannah Court in Brandon where he was very well liked for lively sense of humor. Eddie will be dearly missed by every life that he touched and by the people who knew his family. The visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Stowers Funeral Home 401 W. Brandon Blvd. Brandon, FL 33511 and the service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 10:30am at Nativity Catholic Church, in Brandon, FL
