The heavens gained another sweet voice to the choir when Edward Bernard Sandhop passed into eternal rest on January 17, 2013. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday January 26, 2013, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Victoria Texas. Edward will be buried in the Catholic Cemetery #2 next to the loving arms of his Mother and Father. Edward will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Edward always had an open hand and a smile, never knowing a stranger. Edward was a familiar presence in Victoria at St. Mary's Church, at all the Victoria High Football, Basketball games and also participated in the Special Olympics for many years.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents Frances B. and Fred W. Sandhop, Jr. and sister, Phyllis Ann Moreau. He is survived by his sister, Patricia E. McNamara and brother, Fred C. Sandhop, Aunt Fredlene Pagel, Uncle Garland Sandhop and wife, Willa Mae, who was special to Edward, and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to express our deepest thanks to all his caregivers after our Mother's death, and for the last few years, the Palacios Nursing Home.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Special Olympics INC., 1133 19th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036, or online at Special Olympics.org.
