With heavy hearts the family announces the death of Edward Steckly on Thursday February 3rd, 2011 in his 80th year. Dearly loved husband of Alice Steckly and loving father to Patricia Ferrill of Waterloo, Linda (Gerald) Shier of Mitchell, Roger (Marina) Steckly of Westlock, Alberta, Barbara Somerville of Ingersoll, Marion (Steve) Belrose of Waterloo, and Michael (Nancy) Steckly of Kitchener. Dear grand father to seventeen grand children and fourteen great grand children. Lovingly remembered by his sister Marion Hennige-Austin of Elmira, predeceased by his parents Ezra and Martha (nee Holt), his brother Allen Steckly and four brothers...

Dearly loved husband of Alice Steckly and loving father to Patricia Ferrill of Waterloo, Linda (Gerald) Shier of Mitchell, Roger (Marina) Steckly of Westlock, Alberta, Barbara Somerville of Ingersoll, Marion (Steve) Belrose of Waterloo, and Michael (Nancy) Steckly of Kitchener. Dear grand father to seventeen grand children and fourteen great grand children. Lovingly remembered by his sister Marion Hennige-Austin of Elmira, predeceased by his parents Ezra and Martha (nee Holt), his brother Allen Steckly and four brothers in law. Edward served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1952 to 1971, he will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Special thanks to the entire staff and support workers at Westmount Long Term Care Center for their loving attention and care.

The Family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street West on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the New Apostolic Church, 45 Lodge Street, Waterloo on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment of ashes at Memory Gardens, Breslau.
