Edward Emil Vanek, age 74, of Taylor passed away on April 26, 2013. A Rosary service will be held at 7 pm on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor, TX. Mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor, TX with Father Jame Ekeocha officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Granger, TX. Edward was born on July 6, 1938 in Granger, TX to Anton and Anna Vanek. Edward was born on July 6, 1938 in Granger, TX to Anton and Anna Vanek. He married Lillie (Havelka) Vanek on November 17, 1962 at SSCM Catholic Church in Granger, TX. Edward and Lillie made their home and raised their four children in Taylor, TX. During their 50 years of marriage they were blessed with many wonderful memories.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chris Edward Vanek; his parents, Anton and Anna Vanek; his brothers, Anton Vanek, Julius Vanek, Clarence Vanek, and Alfred Vanek; his sisters, Mildred Stefek, Ann Price, Julie Valchar, and Louise Belz.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Vanek; his daughters, Lillie Lawler and her husband Ronald of Taylor, TX, Mary Kalapach and her husband Joseph of Largo Vista, TX, Monica Bieless and husband Arnie of Temple, TX, and daughter –in-law Teresa Vanek of Taylor, TX; his grandchildren, Steven Lawler, Crystal Lawler, Stephanie Bielss, Zachary Bielss, Matthew Bielss, and Timothy Bielss; and his sisters, Betty Blackmon of Round Rock, TX and Mary John of Taylor, TX.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Lawler, Zachery Bielss, Matthew Bielss, Timothy Bielss, Mike Vanek, George Price, Crystal Lawler, and Stephanie Bielss.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Taylor, TX Restoration Project and/or St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple, TX "Coming Together in Faith" Campaign.
