Obituary

Edward J. Walicki, 89, of Rocky Hill, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Hospital of Central CT New Britain Campus. He was born April 15, 1922 in New Britain, CT to the late Augusta and Barbara (Muszynski) Walicki. Ed was a proud veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and active in the American Legion. He enjoyed relaxing at his cottage in New Hampshire and loved animals. Ed is survived by his daughter, Jeanne Leiner and her husband Bill of Southington; his grandchildren, Katherine Hollingsworth and Kimberly Genter of CA; his step grandchildren, Stacey Indeck, Ryo and Guy...
Edward J. Walicki, 89, of Rocky Hill, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Hospital of Central CT New Britain Campus. He was born April 15, 1922 in New Britain, CT to the late Augusta and Barbara (Muszynski) Walicki.
Ed was a proud veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and active in the American Legion. He enjoyed relaxing at his cottage in New Hampshire and loved animals.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Jeanne Leiner and her husband Bill of Southington; his grandchildren, Katherine Hollingsworth and Kimberly Genter of CA; his step grandchildren, Stacey Indeck, Ryo and Guy Tanbara; his great grandchildren, Kayla, Jacob and Julia Dyer, Haily and Brittny Genter all of CA; his dear friend Althea Whalen. He was predeceased by his son, Edward J. Walicki and his eight siblings, Stella, Julian, Steven, Leo, Joseph, Albin, Henry and Walter Walicki.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 7th, 2011, at 10:30 AM, at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT 06053. Burial with full military honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home at 9:30 Friday morning for a period of visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ed's memory may be made to: CT Dept. of Veteran Affairs Health Care Center- End of life fund, 287 West St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
