Edwin Hugh Beach of Binghamton and Port St. Lucie, FL Edwin Hugh Beach, 78, entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 22, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Dorothy Beach and brother, Dr. Maynard Beach. He is survived by his children, Deborah Beach (Fiancé, David Skinner); Stephen Beach; Lisa and Mark Ruse; Matthew and Lisa Beach; Michael and Tami Beach; beloved grandchildren, Julie and Joseph Ruse; Jordan Pero; Nicholas and Matthew Beach; Dominic, Gianna and Anthony Beach; sister-in-law, Deborah Beach; nieces, Liz and Rebecca; nephew, Paul Maynard; and the mother of his children, Stephanie Franck. Edwin Hugh Beach, 78, entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 22, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Dorothy Beach and brother, Dr. Maynard Beach. He is survived by his children, Deborah Beach (Fiancé, David Skinner); Stephen Beach; Lisa and Mark Ruse; Matthew and Lisa Beach; Michael and Tami Beach; beloved grandchildren, Julie and Joseph Ruse; Jordan Pero; Nicholas and Matthew Beach; Dominic, Gianna and Anthony Beach; sister-in-law, Deborah Beach; nieces, Liz and Rebecca; nephew, Paul Maynard; and the mother of his children, Stephanie Franck. Hugh graduated from The Hill School and Princeton University where he wrestled for the college. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957. He was the general agent for National Life Insurance Co. of Vermont and then later the proprietor of Bee Caps. He served on the boards of Wilson Memorial Hospital and Susquehanna Valley Boys Home. He started a mentoring program in Punta Gorda, FL and was a Big Brother to Evan and Danny Hopple. He was a charmer who always had a ready smile. Hugh was an accomplished drummer and piano player who loved jazz music and dancing. In earlier years, he enjoyed sports, especially tennis, skiing and golf. He enjoyed watching the Yankees, New York Giants and playing pitch. In later years, he loved seeing his grandchildren grow and introducing them to golf.
Family, Extended Family and Friends are invited to call at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY Friday, April 27, 2012 from 4 – 7 PM. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the American Lung Association, 1301 Penn Ave NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
