Edwin Earl Harvey
East Lansing
Edwin Earl Harvey, age 77 of East Lansing, peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2014 at home with his family after a two-year battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. Ed was born August 15, 1936 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Lester James and Martina H. (Elve) Harvey.
Ed attended Oakdale Christian and graduated from Ottawa Hills High School. After his freshman year at Ferris State the lure of joining his dad in business swayed his choice of profession. Being a partner in Industrial Vending Machine Company at Michigan State University gave Ed the ability to work with family until he moved on to be owner/operator of Ed Harvey's Television Service and then he worked at Heatherwood Farms in Lansing, MI. In retirement, Ed kept busy with various jobs including barn restoration and maintenance at University Reformed Lutheran Church in East Lansing, MI.
Ed is survived by his wife Ann of 54 years; his children Steven, Amy (Richard) Rollins, David, Mark (Annie); 6 grandchildren; brother, L. James (Jackie) Harvey.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at Immanuel Community Reformed Church, 3200 Delta River Drive, Lansing, Michigan. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to Immanuel Community Reformed Church. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing. On line condolences may be shared with the family at www.greastlansing.com.
