Edwin J. Zwiesler was born February 24, 1923, to the late Sarah (Ryan) and Albert Zwiesler. He attended Chaminade High School where he excelled in four sports: basketball, football, golf and tennis. He was a graduate of Case Institute of Technology and subsequently served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a Member of the Chaminade Sports Hall of Fame, Dayton Bicycle Club, Moraine Country Club, Knights of Columbus, and Emmanuel Catholic Church. Edwin J. Zwiesler was born February 24, 1923, to the late Sarah (Ryan) and Albert Zwiesler. He attended Chaminade High School where he excelled in four sports: basketball, football, golf and tennis. He was a graduate of Case Institute of Technology and subsequently served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Ed is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ann (Nolan); children Jerry (Mary Lou) Zwiesler, Kathy (Ken) Burgess, Nancy (Dave) Hanna, Tom (Molly) Zwiesler, Michael (Susan) Zwiesler, Julie (Randy) Molten, and Susan Zwiesler; 14 grandchildren Sarah, Dan, Julie (Bob), Megan (Eric), Matt (Erin), David, Michael, Lauren (Garrett), Drew, Nicki, Colleen, Katherine, Christopher, and Ryan; 6 great-grandchildren, Evan, Owen, Emily, Nathan, Andrew, and Grace. A special thanks is given to the nurses and caregivers at Bethany Lutheran Village and Hospice for their kindness to Ed. Visitation will be Monday, June 23, 2014, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills location. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 149 Franklin St., Dayton, Ohio. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent Social Services, 1133 Edwin C. Moses Blvd, #308, Dayton, Ohio 45417 or Hospice of Dayton.
