Mrs. Effie Barnes age 63 of Girdler, KY the wife of Kinley Barnes departed this life on Sunday, September 15, 2013 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, KY. She was the daughter of Loman James Mills and Christine Griffith Mills born to them on November 4, 1949 in Knox Co., KY. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church at Possum Hollow. She was a former employee from American Greeting Card and also from the United States Postal service before retiring. Mrs. Effie Barnes age 63 of Girdler, KY the wife of Kinley Barnes departed this life on Sunday, September 15, 2013 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, KY. She was the daughter of Loman James Mills and Christine Griffith Mills born to them on November 4, 1949 in Knox Co., KY. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church at Possum Hollow. She was a former employee from American Greeting Card and also from the United States Postal service before retiring.
She is preceded in death by her father, Loman Mills and one brother, George William Mills.
Left behind to mourn her passing is her husband Kinley Barnes of Girdler, her mother Christine Mills of Corbin, one daughter, Stephanie Diane Dixon of Laveen, Arizona, three brothers, James L. Mills, of Corbin, Barry Keith Mills of Girdler and Tommy Mills of Flat Lick, two sisters, Ina Jeanine Gray of Cannon, and Barbara Tuzzoli and husband John of Corbin, one grandson, Justin Michael Woolwine. Mrs. Barnes also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Barnes will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Jimmy Siler officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandson and nephews. Burial will follow in the Betty Frost Cemetery at Woolum. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
